2012 Central States Revit Workshop - Omaha, Nebraska

If you are within driving distance of Omaha, Nebraska hopefully you've heard about the Central States Revit Workshop? It runs this Friday and Saturday at the Mid-America Center (September 21 & 22, 2012). If you'd like to read their flyer you can download it HERE. Then again for the price (see below) maybe flying in to attend isn't a big deal either!

This is the schedule/agenda for the two day Revitganza.

Carla Edwards with Leo A. Daly, among others, has been championing this affair since being inspired by the Revit Technology Conference she attended in Huntington Beach, CA in 2011. Unlike many people who think about doing such things she IS doing it. She and her fellow committee members are doing the hard thing, bringing a Revit workshop to your region.

The CSRW committee is comprised of:

Matthew Kuhn, Bill Allen, Nick Meek, Craig Thomas, Barbara Tozser, Carla Edwards, Heath Thompson, Dave Benscoter, Brett Grell, Todd Shackelford, and Casey Eckhard.

The featured speakers are:

Paul Aubin, Joe Eichenseer, Zach Kron (a virtual presentation), Shawn C. Zirbes, Brian Johnson, William Spier, Doug Evans, Michelle McCarthy, and Jason Gardner. You can read more about them at the workshop sessions web page.

Curious how much for two days of Revity goodness?

$200 For CSI and RUGON Members
$250 For Non Members

All registration will be done via Paypal for Conference attendees.

If you have questions, contact Carla via EMAIL.

RTC Alumni Early Bird Registration

As promised during the wrap up of RTC USA 2011 it is now possible for alumni to take advantage of early bird pricing to register now. The email inviting past attendees to register early went out last night.

If you have not received an email let the committee know by responding to the thread(s) at the RTC Linked In community. If you aren't a member at Linked In send an email to the Conference Secretary.

RTC Competition

Just a reminder to readers that are attending the Revit Technology Conference next week in Huntington Beach. There is a competition segment to the event that offers some very nice prizes. To enter the work you and your firm has done you need to review the information on the web site regarding the competition.

Here's one of this year's RTC Goldcoast winner, Tony Hoffmann with Humphrey & Edwards Architects:

For reference you can take a look at the recent Goldcoast RTC competition as well as some images of previous submissions. You can also review the past RTC events: RTC 2010 - RTC 2009 - RTC 2008 - RTC 2007 - RTC 2006

The prizes have not been listed yet but they involve significant hardware and software I'd be very happy to win, but I'm not eligible...but "you" are!

Poll Count - Where Did They Go?

I left the RTC post up for a few days to improve the odds of someone seeing and voting. Sorry to go "silent" in order to allow for that. Over the weekend I saw a high of 156 votes but was shocked this morning to only see 92. Apparently Google (Blogger) has been having some issues with polls losing votes over the last few months. At least there are numerous posts regarding this at Blogger help. I don't know if they will all come back or not. As it happens Jay Zallan posted a screen shot on his blog, pitching for keeping RTCUSA on the West Coast. Boston has been leading the rest most of the time. Oh, back to the image...it shows 160 votes. At least this can help establish a higher value than what shows right now. Thanks for posting Jay and the screen capture!

RTC USA 2011 - Revit Technology Conference coming to USA

Rodd Perey with Architectus recently had his review of RTC 2010 published at AECBytes, the site founded and edited by Lachmi Khemlani.

I've had every intention of writing something about it here but he's done a really nice job of summarizing what happened over the course of the three day event. Well he did leave out what happened in the evenings after the sessions wrapped but then maybe most of that ought to remain a mystery?

You can read his article at AECBytes HERE.

RTC has been an Australian event...but planning is underway to bring it to the USA! The tentative dates are June 23-25 at a venue (nearly determined) in Orange County (Southern California). There is a LinkedIn Group you can join and you can visit the RTC site to check in on progress.
