Or even an option within the export to have Room Tags export to a block, a block with attributes instead of Mtext and lines? Are you aware of any plans to implement this in the future?

Quick backstory to why I am asking. As much as I love Revit our workflow requires a CAD to GIS translation where we can automate hundred of drawings fairly quickly but Revit complicates this (for reasons are far too long to list here). We have found GIS to be a much better tool for Facilities Management and can do things no Autodesk product can do. Since more and more projects require a BIM model, we are trying to find ways to either partially or entirely skip the translation to CAD and go directly from Revit to GIS. Are there third party apps that can be exported from Revit to CAD? Any input would be appreciated.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14144829314956302900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9240097.post-2223608723549655052016-05-02T14:48:39.926-07:002016-05-02T14:48:39.926-07:00I appreciate having someone point out the subtle i...I appreciate having someone point out the subtle improvements as will as the big stuff.

And I also appreciate the "VR" shortcut, the parameter concatenation, and the "Temperature Difference" parameter type. No subtlety, and I think it will be very hard to get consistent output between different elevations. Also has no line weight control.RevitCathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17421472010756742971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9240097.post-22987412836220329162016-04-21T09:28:08.968-07:002016-04-21T09:28:08.968-07:00am i the only one confused as to why they changed ...am i the only one confused as to why they changed the location, and ease, with which we USED to be able to add parameters/labels in families?

the fact that they moved it is annoying, it used to be in the green bar under the toolbar. It's now for some reason in the contextual toolbar. Little to no gain IMHO.
However, the fact that when you use the drop down for "labels" they removed the "add parameter" from the dropdown, and instead force you to use some unlabeled button just seems like a step backwards, especially to veteran users! I see no benefit in labels/parameters being created solely by that button, unable now to just use the "add parameter" from the label dropdown.

the fact that these are the things autodesk feels are important enough to change, but still don't have a SIMPLE way to make canted/sloped walls leaves me dumbfounded (yet again, only been requesting that feature since about 2006)

oyyyyy

that said, thanks Steve for the, as always, very indepth feature review/rundown. It's always appreciated!

Ohhh and don't get me started on how i'm disappointed in the way they integrated the depth of field feature for elevations. Sliders??? really?? it totally should have been imputed numbers where a user can give a fixed distance and % of fade for each increment of distance they desired. This would have totally allowed better consistency from view to view compared to some convoluted sliders. At least that's my quick take on the feature. Time will tell i suppose.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02755641385168532842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9240097.post-10162635811889395092016-04-20T21:22:14.441-07:002016-04-20T21:22:14.441-07:00Good Read!Good Read!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00251975329665077938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9240097.post-58268462821305575992016-04-19T08:05:46.431-07:002016-04-19T08:05:46.431-07:00Steve

If a user then subscribes to C4R, the installation of a plug-in is no longer required. Its a little thing, but keeps a user from needing IT to get involved.

One other thing: We no longer sell Revit Arch, Revit MEP, or Revit Structure. All Revit users now get "Revit One Box" which contains ALL of the features, tools, etc of the separate flavors.

Scott D Davishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10176182838102969841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9240097.post-50665451881636650782016-04-14T09:03:08.752-07:002016-04-14T09:03:08.752-07:00Great good to readGreat good to readJan-Willemnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9240097.post-83363545710141661492016-04-14T05:29:13.538-07:002016-04-14T05:29:13.538-07:00thanks, i was too lazy to read the official one.thanks, i was too lazy to read the official one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
