If someone has left without relinquishing, we can set Revit to their username (with nothing open), create a new local, open it as them, sync and relinquish, close, and change the username back.
1. We use a fake username such as "LOCKED" to take possession and not relinquish key worksets to protect them from inadvertent changes. Now that Pinning actually prevents accidental deletion, we may cease using this kludge.
We don't make locals by the Open dialogs "Create New Local" but instead use a custom tool, so that prevents the username conflict warnings.rgesnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08334752164015721199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9240097.post-15331663422139188642014-11-21T16:03:13.588-08:002014-11-21T16:03:13.588-08:00Steve one word of note. If a user is logged into the Autodesk 360 account then Revit will use that name as the username and it becomes greyed out when attempting to change it.Brian Mackeyhttp://bdmackeyconsulting.com/blog/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9240097.post-42534617353394997712014-11-20T21:53:37.298-08:002014-11-20T21:53:37.298-08:00The local file will be suffixed with your Autodesk...The local file will be suffixed with your Autodesk ID if signed in, instead of your user name in Settings.
