You would think that this is just a flexing feature, but I find it affects family behavior sometimes. For example with the option unchecked, some parameters cause a family to break. Once checked, it behaves. I have not been lucky enough to actually pin-point what causes this, so it makes it that much more frustrating to work on families. Therefore, it would be good to add that as a comment to that Wiki-help article. My understanding of the lock column in the family editor is that it prevents "in canvas" flexing of the parameter and that when checked, you MUST flex in the Family Types dialog. <br /><br />I agree that the help is not "helpful" on this point... <br /><br />As for inconsistencies with dimension behavoir... no argument there...Paul F.
